As I sat at the bar, unamused by the conversations around me, one grabbed my attention. The fellow next to me and the bartender were chatting away. Or the way I saw it, he was chatting at her, trying to grab her attention. As he quickly jumped from one topic to another, he finally asked a question of value.
"So the Solar Eclipse is happening here in the Valley. Do you know where the best camping is going to be?"
I was genuinely interested, so I stopped what I was doing and gave all my attention to the bartender. I had some friends coming into town for the eclipse and I wanted to let them know the best place to stay.
As she shuffled from one customer to the next, she threw out the first thing that came to mind.
" Uh I don't know. I'm sure there are some campsites around here."
As he quickly moved onto the next topic still reaching for her attention, I was stuck. " I'm sure there are some campsites around here", but was there really? Was there really a "spot to be" for the Eclipse? This was going to be a once in a lifetime experience and people were going to be scrambling for places to stay? I could not let that happen.
I have had my share of MEMORABLE moments in my life that I will never forget. They are memories that are dear to me and define parts of who i am as a person. you have memories as well. reminiscing on them, they warm your heart and bring a smile to your face.
as the wheels in my head began to turn, I decided that I needed to take action in this endeavor and create the ultimate experience for you and your family. with each decision that we make in this journey into the solar eclipse, we keep you in mind. Our goal is not to provide camping for you, our goal is to create a memory for you and your loved ones.
One that you will remember for the rest of your life.
So to the man in the bar, thank you! We hope to see you at the Foxcreek Campout! Oh and one other thing, I hope you got that bartenders number!
